Growing up in Louisiana, Stephanie Leyden was always surrounded by the eclectic style and flair of the region. At a young age she knew she was going to be an artist.
Stephanie pursued an education at the University of St. Francis in Fort Wayne, Indiana, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography in 2008.
Her creative process begins when she is alone, giving herself time to ruminate on what she wants to express in her artwork. She always begins painting with a mental plan of what she is going to produce.
Creative influences include contemporary artists Alfred Gockel and David Garibaldi. Their bold, vibrant colors and energetic use of rhythm resonate with Stephanie’s own bright style.
Stephanie aims to create uplifting and dynamic art. She says, “I want people to smile and connect to my art in a positive way.” She values education and is constantly learning and evolving. One of Stephanie’s highlights in painting is sharing personal moments with people who enjoy her work.
