In celebration of the DeYoung Museum’s 125th Anniversary,
the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are hosting The DeYoung Open,
a juried community art exhibition of Bay Area artists.

I began this series of paintings after I returned from Morocco in 2017.
Morocco was ancient & mysterious, with a big taste of Africa.
The Moroccan color palette was exotic, and I was attracted to the intense light and shadow. These paintings are composites of drawings, photos, remembered moments, and reimagined combinations.
