In this rendition of Marlon Brando as The Godfather, Horvath surrounds the central figure with multiple references from the two original Godfather films, including: the Godfather logo; film stills from both Godfather I & I/; Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and Robert Duval; the famous car explosion scene from Godfather Part I; and Clemenza with gun from Godfather Part I alongside the text THE MAN situated beside. Horvath also includes an abundance of layered found poster materials including; the text MAKE HIM AN OFFER and “INTRODUCING THE” multiple images of cars harking back to the many vehicles from the films, and a spray painted skull. Also seen here are spray painted shooting stars and tons of dripped, thrown and sprayed paint. Finishing the work, BRANDO & OG (original gangster) are stencilled up the 2 sides of the canvas.
