JOHN VOSEL

John Vosel is a contemporary artist residing in Milford, Ohio. He earned an MFA in sculpture at the University of Cincinnati college of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning in 2019. With a large background in sculpture and fabrication, his current focus is creating paintings on custom built wooden panels. 

“My work consists of imagery pulled from popular culture, nostalgic memories, and a touch of humor. I transform this subject matter into unique compositions—making them my own, and solidifying their physicality in the real world. Using traditional and unconventional methods of painting, I investigate the nature of different materials with a sense of creation and destruction. Fascinated by color, texture and design, I love to balance my paintings and create harmony on the surface. Attention to detail and well executed craftsmanship are significant in each piece.”
