Lenore Gimpert is a graduate of the College for Creative Studies, and received both her MA and MFA from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Lenore’s paintings combine her love of history and her contemporary perspective to create truly romantic and unique, yet classical works of art. They are a testament to great courage and persistence.

Painting is second nature to Lenore. She has been painting her entire life and expanded upon her talents by attending multiple art schools to perfect her craft. Inspired in art school, she turned to abstract painting, which has become her true signature. She experiments with different materials, slathering thick paint on the canvas and texturizing it with whatever comes to hand. She uses dripping techniques, smearing, splattering and pouring paint on paper and canvas to create works of art that are lush. Lenore is known for her “Tutu” Series, her signature pieces which are masterfully painted abstractions of beautiful dresses. These pieces are full of color and beauty and reflect a life well-lived, full of struggle and reward. The tutus represent an explosion of freedom and happiness like fireworks on the Fourth of July!
